Labour Relations Officer- Benjamin Owusu
Description
- Develop and implement labour relations strategies aligned with organizational goals and employment legislation.
- Interpret collective agreements and advise management and union representatives on their application.
- Participate in and/or lead collective bargaining negotiations on behalf of the employer.
- Mediate and resolve labour disputes, grievances, and other workplace conflicts using conflict resolution techniques.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to management and employees on employee relations matters, including discipline, termination, and workplace investigations.
- Research and analyze labour trends, employment legislation, and case law to support negotiations and policy development.
- Prepare and maintain job descriptions, job classification frameworks, and salary structures as they relate to bargaining unit positions.
- Support the development and implementation of fair and consistent performance appraisal processes within unionized environments.
- Collaborate with HR colleagues to ensure alignment between labour relations activities and broader HR programs, such as compensation, benefits, training, and equity initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of grievances, negotiations, arbitration outcomes, and other labour relations documentation.
- Conduct training for managers and supervisors on collective agreement administration, workplace rights, and effective employee relations practices.
Compensation
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
